We sell complete
systems and major components. We will accept orders for smaller individual components if in support of systems currently
being installed or those that have previously sold. Prices are subject to change in accordance to our current costs.
Note:
We try to keep these prices updated. Today's date is August 7, 2008. If we get behind, call for updated prices. New system
specials for 2008!... Our installers generally install these for you (within 100 to 200 mile radius of Camano Island).
However, we may consider installs further away in areas such as central and eastern WA as well. Limited technical support
is available for DIY or your selected electrical contractor.
Reduce
your electric bills or install independent electric or hot water systems... Guaranteed components... 20-25 years on Photovoltaic
panels (lifetime expectancy based on 35 years experience for installed panels), 1 -- 10 year warranty on Inverters, 10
years on Solar Hot Water Panels -- up to lifetime expectancy for closed loop systems. Batteries (if used)
1-- 10 years. Many of our PhotoVoltaic systems are batteryless!)
BATTERYLESS
HOME POWER SOLAR PV SYSTEMS FOR 2008
Implement Grid-Tie power to reduce your electric bill. When the sun is out your
power meter will slow down and give you substantial net savings, depending upon your loads. Your meter can even turn
backward when you are not using all the power!
A) XANTREX GT 2.5
Grid-Tie Batteryless Solar System. This system includes 2.475 kiloWatts of PhotoVoltaic panels (PV power rating: 1
string with a total of 15 panels rated at 180-200 peak Watts each. AND the highly acclaimed advanced technology
'GT Xantrex Inverter' that carries a 10 year warranty: $18,990! With 30 panels and a 5 kW inverter: $35,500
(4,950 peak PV Watts)! Both of these systems include an approved roof rack mounting system. Installation within a 100
mile radius generally runs between $2,450 and $3,700 depending upon the size of the system, structure height and the
associated requirements for installation.
Product technical assistance for electrical contractors and DIY installers (electrical competence and experience
necessary). These systems come with up to four hours technical assistance handled by telephone and email for remote installs. On-site consultation and on-site visits are available
in our region, otherwise support is given to your local electrical contractor. A pre-installation site survey and energy analysis is available for $125 within a 150 mile radius of Camano
Island. Distant surveys can be conducted by mailing us $50 with a completed copy of our form printed from our SYSTEMS AND SITE EVALUATION FORM page.
Approximate
'full system size' energy production is 365 KW hours per month (averaged over the year, in Puget Sound -- approximately
3.5 hours of sun per day averaged over the year.) or 395 KW hours per month for areas with 4.5 hours of sun per
day (typical for eastern Washington and Idaho sunny locations). An excellent solar site will have solar
exposure from -- 9:30 am to 7 pm in summer -- no shadows during daylight hours, and in winter between
10 am and 4 pm.. A good solar site should have full sun exposure to the array from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. in summer. The Olympic
Penninsula may have reduced output, depending upon the location. Some regions have 2 to 3 KiloWatt hours per day...
But, yes! Solar systems do work and many are installed on the Olympic Penninsula....
Compare the kW hours
monthly production to your "monthly" kW hours on your electric bill. (Be sure that you are viewing or calculating
the monthly kiloWatt hours, -- many utilities invoice every other month.) To make your system more effective be sure you are
implementing all possible electrical conservation methods.
10 year warranty
standard on GT inverters, 25 years on PV panels
BATTERY GRID-TIE OR INDEPENDENT Note: Either of these systems
are great for hybrid systems. A wind generator is optional. L-16 (18" tall, 375 Amp hour) wet cell batteries are included. Battery upgrades
are available. Design variations are possible for these systems. These are fully capable of feeding the utility grid
or independent operation. Back-up power is provided during outages in proportion to the collected solar energy and battery
bank size.

DOWN THE PAGE FOR WIND SYSTEMS TOO......
Note that
in many areas wind can be used as an energy supplement. In others it can be the major energy source. In Puget Sound, it can
supplement solar energy, especially when storms move in and out. In other areas along the coast, the Columbia River, islands,
marine areas, central and eastern WA plateaus and some valleys, it can contribute more energy -- in some cases it can
be the major energy supplier.
